Misc. 2 011

It has been quite awhile since we all got to chat, hasn't it?  Our studio moving, not to mention our 30+ odd sewing projects, has kept us running.  The weather here is still chilly, so we're all looking forward to spring!  In between everything else, we're trying to do a few little sewing projects of our own.  Hopefully we'll be able to show some of them soon!  (Once the weather warms up enough so we can take pictures of course…)

So st croix + new studio 071

And speaking of projects, we have a new one we hope to be able to give you a tutorial on soon!  It's really fun and makes something kinda plain and boring a little added punch!

So, we hope to be back very soon!

Look what we’re having today….

Misc. 2 009

We know you'll find this hard to believe, but we are sharing some more pizza love with you!  But, this isn't your typical pizza.  It's cheeseburger pizza.  Very tasty and a little spin off of regular (though we never get sick of that either).  Enjoy!

Cheeseburger Pizza~

1/2 lb. ground beef

1 onion, chopped

1/2 cup pizza sauce

1/2 cup ketchup

1 (12 inch) pre-baked pizza crust

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzerella cheese

6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

1 tomato, chopped

dill pickle slices

Cook ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet with a little oil until beef is brown and cooked through.  Drain off excess fat and set aside.  Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees.  Spread the pizza sauce and ketchup evenly over the pizza crust, but not quite reaching the edge.  Add a little salt and pepper to taste.  Spread cooked beef over sauce, then cover with cheeses.  Now place sliced pickles and chopped tomato over the cheese.  Cook in oven for 9-11 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown.  Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the crumbled bacon.  Eat!

What we’ve been up to…

Route 66 skirts 118
Hello, everyone!  We thought it was just about time to catch you up on everything we've been doing lately.  January was a pretty busy month for us, and February is looking even busier!  So we thought today would be a good day for the tell-all.  First off —

route 66 skirts are here!

You'll find sewing patterns, along with custom-crafted skirts in four styles!

Now, onto exciting-thing-number-two.

Little dishcloths, nashville cottons 003
We're now including a little version (made by us) of Nana's amazing dishcloth with every custom-made little chic sisters apron!  (We've heard these soft cotton-y cloths are great in the bathtub, too.  Especially when they turn the bathwater pink.  After all, who wouldn't love pink bathwater?)

And… our official marie-madeline studio hang tags are here at last!  From now on, every custom order will receive one of these pretty things.  Oh yes, the fabric for this messenger bag is Amy Butler's LOVE home dec.  (Coming soon to the shop, along with a couple of fun, coordinating prints!)

Nanny's due in sometime tomorrow.  You all know what that means!  That's right.  She'll be sleeping on the four-hour flight home.  All the way.

Snow?  Yep, we've been getting plenty of it lately.  Which gives us a good excuse to stay inside and work on our biggest project of the new year

We're moving!  We've outgrown our studio space, so marie-madeline has to find a new home!  A new home in the same home, that is.  (We'll plan on posting pictures, of course!)  And because of all this upside-down-ness, we've decided to clearance off every ready-made item we have on hand, which includes everything from sample items to the girls' clothes formerly in our Etsy shop.  (We're changing our Etsy store up a tiny bit, too… less ready-made, more fabric bundles.)  All that to say, we'll be posting the clearance items soon, Lord willing, and sell them straight from the blog.

But back to the moving situation.  We're really doing it with mixed feelings — excitement at having more room, really incredible Dad-built fabric shelving, a genuine cutting table, and loads of storage space on the one hand.  So many happy memories in our little sewing room on the other hand.  But that's life, isn't it?  We'll just have to make new memories, and store up the old ones.  The Lord is very kind!

Lots of love and warmth and cheer to you & yours!
